How do I change the calibration frequency between calibrations?
To save money and time gage frequencies may be extended between calibrations. For instance, 6 months after a gage with a 1 year calibration has been calibrated, management determines that its frequency can be extended to 2 years.
The concern is that advancing the date with out a matching calibration record may create an opportunity for an auditor to issue a finding. Also, the calibration label on the gage will not match the due date.
Possible Resolution:
- Locate the gage in Gage Entry.
- Go to the Schedule tab and change the frequency.
- Return the Iinformation tab and click the Calibration button.
- Locate the most recent calibration record and un-pass it.
- Re-pass it.
- The revised frequency and new due date are now on the calibration record and Gage Entry -> Schedule has be updated to match.
- You may now print a label with the revised information for the gage.
